Music defines the soul

Childish Gambino, the actor formally known as Donald Glover has made is mark in the music industry. By looking at his most popular television work, one might never think to hear Glover, shoot aggressive and sometimes vulgar lyrics over strong beat. However, Gambino holds his ground in his album Camp. Not only is this album a black lash on other rappers who thought he couldn't compare, it is also the biography of his life. w=With lines such as "And I just wanna fit in, but nobody was helping me out They talking hood shit and I ain't know what that was about
Cause hood shit and black shit is super different" Gambino defines racism within the same culture. Not everything is so political there are a few feel good and love songs on the album as well.

Aaron Durr, new to the LA scene with a unique fun pop sound, Durr sings heart warming songs while he intrigues the audience with his piano. A bit of a corky sound, but he reminds me a little of Maroon 5.

M.I.A The Humanitarian rap artist. Her sound as well as her lyrics are very different. You are not going to find a traditional bass rhymthm you would in any other popular rap artist. You'll probably hear rap phrases you don't understand. But her sound is unique and lively with an array of different instruments and beats that compliment eachother in each song. She also has this confidence that comes out through her music, as she will say whatever she wants on her tracks.

Kendrick Lamar: One thing that stood out to me about Lamar was his voice and the pace of his rap. His voice is a nice, and he raps at a slightly faster pace but it doesn't sound like he's trying to out do Busta Rhymes. Lyrics are really speaking the truth.
