Around The City: Reviews on resturaunts, bars and more

Long Beach: Downtown long beach isn't what it use to be. I remember when I use to drive down Pine and the streets were flooded with people. A couple weekends ago when I went out for a night with the girls, I can honestly say that the LBC has lost it's sparkle. Lucky there was one place that had the people and the drinks which was Aulid Dubliner. One of my favorite places to get a Irish Kiss. The bartenders are always friendly and fast. And even though the place can get crowded and a little loud, the Irish Nachos are so worth it. Especially with the drunk munchies.
Najas Najas has become one of my favorite dive bars. Located at the very end of the Redondo Beach pier, Najas can be described as a diamond in the rough. One will not be glamored by the simple decor, with beer taps hanging from the ceiling, many tables and stools, and a pool table pushed into the back, the decor is average. but what Najas has over any other dive bar is that is has 88 different beers on tap. An exciting thing for beer lovers, however I am more a cider fan then a beer fan. And Najas happens to have my new favorite cider which is Lindemen Framboise. A delicious drink that taste like you are drinking raspberries. Besides the beer and cider Najas also has live music and plenty space to groove too. Casa Blanca In Venice California. The decor is decorated just like the movie, which is interesting that the restaurant sells Mexican food. The one thing I didn't like about this place is that they don't let people share plates. The person that is sharing is charged a fee. You could always sneak it, but I don't think there should a be a charge for sharing. The was good however, but the tortillas were the best. Next time I think I will get the tortillas to go. Red cup Sundays I can honestly say an horrible experience for my friends and I. I was expecting Red Cup Sundays to be the equivalent to the Do over. However I was terribly wrong. My friends and I showed up about an hour before doors opened, which in LA and hour early is right on time. We waited almost three hours and watched as people who had purchased tables or were ready to drop about $2000 to buy a table got in. Red Cup is smashed for me. Never again. Lake Isabella Finally was able to go on a camping trip with my friends. The lake was gorgeous and the camp sight was nice as well. Conveniently located a few milies from the town, I felt like I was one with nature but not to far from civilization. The lake was also next to Kern River/ The river was really low this year but it was still good for floating along the river.
NoLas Is a taste of the south in LA. Located in downtown, very close to little Tokyo There menu selection s quite short but the menu stayed true the southern cuisine. A little pricey, but if you go at night they have live jazz performances every night of the week. I shall go back at night one day and write a review for that.
