The 19 piece 1930s New Orleans Orchestra and Cabaret show made an appearance at Cafe Was in Hollywood. Although the cafe was quite small, perhaps a little too small to hold a 19 person band, they still made it work. With the band scattered through out the room, and dancers danhttp://www.blogger.com/cing within guests and workers
Because no matter how small or big the venue, the band can make you feel as if you were in the heart of New Orleans. The energy and music of the band had everyone dancing, some danced in their chairs, others couldn't hide their excitement and danced in any open space they could find. even the waiters danced their ways to each table.
Every song presented a new story, a new emotion, and somehow got every audience member hooked. For almost two hours the band put their soul in every sound. Some songs gave out a seductive sound with deep drums. Other sounds gave out a sense of excitement and joy with triumphs blaring and the sound of the sax and tub. And the voices, the voices of the singer. Almost indescribable but for a lack of a better words amazingly, raw and beautiful. This is want singing should sound like.
Cafe Was was very enjoyable as well. With friendly service when we arrived, as we ate and when we left. A short but diverse menu of dates, soup, chicken appetizers, friend and salad. I of course got the fries. I tried some of my friend baked chicken, and it was Delicious. The drink menu offered different wines and their own mixture of cocktails. Many of the drinks included fresh ingredients such as strawberries, mint, jalapenos, oranges and more. Many of the drinks had a main ingredient of vodka. I however choose the whiskey drink with strawberries and lime and a few more ingredients that I can't remember but it tasted good.
People experience and overcome some amazing things all in which are stories waiting to be told. My mission is to write about the untold stories of people. My second mission is to share with you my experiences by reviewing the random and interesting places I find myself getting into.
