The E.N.D album review

Consistent beats of electronic sound, with energy pulsating through every track of the new Blacked Eyed Peas cd, “ The E.N.D( ENERGY NEVER DIES). It is definitely a new taste of sound for the peas. Stepping away from the more instrumental sound in their last album “ monkey business” and delivering a more electronic sound. It definitely the type of music you would hear at a club or rave scene. And definitely the cd to jump start a Saturday night.

With songs such as “ out of my head”, “ party all the time” and “good night”, all great weekend starts, the album is definitely meant to keep you grooving. And it’s hard not to rock you body, to a sample of Rob Base “ I wanna rock right now” mixed in with a new stereo sound.

But almost album as that electronic party all the time beat to it, there are a few songs that take things a little personal. You have the song for having trouble in a relationship with “ meet me halfway”. Although the lyrics may be some what deep, music still stays true to its almost techno like sound. Clearly showing that this isn’t a song to cry over, but to dance the tears away.

And the Peas continue to spread the peace with the song ‘ One tribe” With heart felt and perhaps some corny lines such as “ lets catch amnesia, forget about all that evil.” We may not forget about the evil and you probably won’t be able to forget yet another catchy, keep the peace song that reminds all that “ we’re all one people.”

There was one song, that I personally didn’t like and didn’t think fit into the album. The song was either a failed attempted of musical expression or a mockery of today’s society, and if so they the song is pretty genius.

The song Now generation, with it’s rough strums of the guitar pretty much talked about how greedy this generation is. How obsessed we are with electronics, getting things to go faster, and instant gratification. And all smirk lines and references to wikipedia, texting, wifi and other electronics that seem to be taking over society, I wonder is it celebrating this obsession or exposing it.

All in all I give the album a B+.
