People experience and overcome some amazing things all in which are stories waiting to be told. My mission is to write about the untold stories of people. My second mission is to share with you my experiences by reviewing the random and interesting places I find myself getting into.

live at the reef
It started at 8pm and it was in Torrance. In the back of my mind I was little spectacle because to make an event happen timing and location is everything. So needless to say I shy away from things that start too early or that aren't in the most interesting cities. However, I still wanted to go because I heard there was going to be a good dj, aka DJ Throwback, who is also one of my good friends, plus the excitement of new and live music, new atmosphere and free booze enticed me to go.
As I pulled up to the place around 1030-11pm, there wasn't exactly a neon sign pointing out the place. The place was hiding behind an small office build in the dead in alley behind a bowling ball alley. I followed the noise and the random groups of people walking around and found where i was suppose to be.
This storage space turned music studio instantly had a welcoming vibe. The place kind of reminded me of a one bedroom apartment. There was a outside area, with a fire pit in the middle, and random construction pieces in the background. As I walked inside, there was a small kitchen area, a recording studio in the back, and living room/ entertainment room in the front. The living room of entertainment, a room filled with couches, colorful and unique paintings on the wall, and a stage for the live bands to perform. People greeting you as you walk in. Groups of people engaged in their conversations. Right when I was introduced to one person I would be introduced to three other people.
There festivities included a few live bands and of course the dj in between band sets. I didn't pay too much attention to the bands, not because they weren't good, mostly because I was busy socializing, dropping in and out of people's conversations. busy shaking hands and starting up conversations by the fire pit while simultaneously trying to keep myself warm.
overall the event was the definition of a chill experience. No drama, no one trying to to impress eachother, not really any ways, and everyone was just there to have a food time. thats how life should be right?
